U.S. National Whitewater Center
The U.S. National Whitewater Center (USNWC) offers a variety of land and water activities that promotes a healthy and active lifestyle. Located on the Catawba River, the USNWC offers a variety of activities across 1,300 acres that everyone can enjoy regardless of their age or skill level. In addition to promoting a healthy and active lifestyle, the USNWC aims to promote environmental education and encourages people to interact together to create a stronger community.

These activities include kayaking, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, ziplines, and even a 40+ mile trail where visitors can walk, hike, or run. Additionally, the USNWC hosts a variety of different competitions throughout the year, such as triathlons and even ultra-marathons.
If you just want to relax and enjoy nature, consider attending one of the USNWC’s outdoor concerts or outdoor dining events. The USNWC also offers various sports and natural environment classes, as well as instruction and certification classes, team development classes, and even summer camps. These opportunities are great for adults and children who want to learn more about the environment and develop communication and leadership skills.
